Indonesian shares rose 33 points, or 0.5%, to 6,377 in Friday morning trading, recovering from a modest decline in the previous session as gains in energy, property and infrastructure supported the market. The advance was capped by softer U.S. stock futures ahead of the July jobs report and lingering geopolitical tension after Iran was reportedly seeking to restrict U.S. and Israeli vessels from transiting Hormuz and demand compensation from countries it considers hostile. Investors were also cautious before the release of July trade data in China, Indonesia's top trading partner, where exports and imports are expected to weaken because of weather disruptions. Among early movers, Indosat rose 6.8%, Mitra Keluarga gained 4.7% and Bumi Resources added 2.8%. For the week, the market remained on course for a fifth consecutive gain, helped by buying tied to governance reforms under President Prabowo's flagship program. July headline inflation, meanwhile, fell to a three-month low, reinforcing the view that price pressures remain contained.
