Lithuania recorded a trade deficit of EUR 713.1 million in June 2026, up from EUR 404.0 million a year earlier, as import growth outpaced exports. Exports rose 18.5% year on year to EUR 3,546.5 million, helped by stronger shipments of mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation, plastics and articles thereof, and iron and steel. Imports climbed 25.4% to EUR 4,259.6 million, led by higher purchases of mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation, ground vehicles and parts thereof, and electrical machinery, equipment and parts thereof. In the first six months of 2026, the trade deficit widened to EUR 3,526 million from EUR 3,239 million as imports increased 6.0% and continued to outpace a 5.5% rise in exports. Export growth was strongest to Latvia, Poland, and the Netherlands, while imports increased from Poland, Germany, Latvia, and Norway.
