Oracle and AWS are broadening their cloud alliance by adding dedicated multicloud networking to Oracle AI Database@AWS, extending a setup that already places Oracle database infrastructure natively inside Amazon data centers. The service runs Oracle's Exadata Database Service and Autonomous Database on dedicated Exadata hardware within AWS facilities, letting enterprises retain existing Oracle database architectures while connecting directly to AWS analytics and AI/ML tools. After reaching general availability in July 2025 in the US East-1 Virginia and US West-2 Oregon regions, Oracle AI Database@AWS expanded to 20 regions globally by May 29, 2026. The next phase, announced on April 16, 2026, uses Oracle Interconnect and AWS Interconnect to provide private, low-latency, high-throughput links between Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS, starting in US East (N. Virginia). AWS Interconnect with multicloud OCI support became generally available on July 29, 2026. The companies say hundreds of enterprises are already using the platform for business-critical workloads, helped by zero-ETL (direct data transfer without batch pipelines) integration and a choice between full-stack and split-stack deployments. Oracle's recent quarter underscored the commercial payoff, with infrastructure-as-a-service revenue rising 84% year-over-year to $4.9 billion, driven largely by AI demand and multicloud arrangements such as its AWS partnership.
