LG Group and Nvidia have formalized a strategic partnership spanning robotics, AI factories and mobility, with LG planning to publicly unveil a bipedal humanoid robot powered by Nvidia's Jetson Thor, Isaac GR00T and Halos for Robotics in the first quarter of next year. The agreement, signed on the 13th local time at Nvidia's headquarters in Santa Clara, California and announced on the 14th, also sets a timetable for an 80MW AI factory in Cheonan by the first half of 2028 and for a high-performance computing platform for next-generation AI-defined vehicles (software- and AI-centered cars) based on Nvidia's Drive Hyperion. LG said it will combine its affiliates' actuators, sensors, batteries, cooling and manufacturing capabilities with Nvidia's platforms to commercialize physical AI (AI for real-world machines), validate robots on production lines this year through LG CLOi deployments in Tennessee, and build reference implementations aimed at setting global standards in the sector.
