CVC DIF has agreed to acquire a significant majority stake in firstcolo GmbH from CUBE Infrastructure through CVC DIF Value Add IV, with completion expected by the end of September 2026 subject to customary closing conditions. The investment is aimed at supporting firstcolo's next growth phase, centered on the FRA7 greenfield project in Rosbach vor der Höhe in the Frankfurt metropolitan region. The planned facility is designed for up to 24 MW of total capacity, up to 16 MW of IT load and liquid-cooled high-density racks of up to 200 kW per rack, positioning it for artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and cloud workloads. firstcolo said the site, power supply, permits and turnkey delivery model have already been secured, while a partnership with regional energy provider OVAG will provide power and enable waste heat to be used in district heating networks. Founders Jerome Evans and Nicolaj Kamensek will remain active as CEO and COO and keep an equity interest, alongside CFO Dennis Bergfeld and the existing management team. The company said the project is intended to strengthen its AI-ready, energy-efficient data centre platform in Germany and could inform future development in the Frankfurt region and other German markets.
