Kaito AI co-founder Yu Hu addressed community privacy concerns about the Pulse browser extension, saying its zkTLS verification (privacy-preserving proof technology) creates an encrypted proof only when a user actively initiates verification. Kaito receives the final proof, not complete account data or browsing history. Pulse’s collection of interaction data on X, including content exposure, time spent and engagement, was authorized during installation and does not send activity from other websites to Kaito. Yu Hu acknowledged that Chrome’s permission notice, which says the extension can read and write data on all websites, is broader than its actual use and said the next version will specify X website data. Critic Ultra endorsed the explanation. Kaito Pulse is scheduled to become open source this week, while its device fingerprinting is intended only to prevent abuse such as fake engagement and Sybil attacks (coordinated identity abuse), not for analytics or other purposes. The final functionality should be assessed from the code after release.
