Nvidia is linking companies seeking GPU capacity with Nordic data center operators through its DGX-Ready Colocation Data Center program, which certifies facilities capable of hosting demanding AI systems. The certified operators are atNorth, Bulk Data Centers and Borealis Data Center. Their facilities use 100% renewable energy, benefit from cool ambient temperatures that reduce cooling requirements and offer potentially lower operating costs than warmer locations. Iceland provides geothermal power, while Norway and Sweden offer abundant hydroelectric capacity. Nvidia’s certification covers liquid-cooling readiness, component validation and ecosystem support intended to reduce infrastructure delays. Deployments include Crusoe’s August 2025 partnership with atNorth to expand Iceland’s ICE02 facility using Nvidia DGX GB200 NVL72 systems and Blackwell GPUs. The OpenAI-backed Stargate project plans to deploy 100,000 Nvidia GPUs in Norway by the end of 2026, while Verne and nScale are targeting Europe’s largest liquid-cooled AI GPU installation in Iceland, with approximately 4,600 Nvidia Blackwell Ultra GPUs and operations expected through 2026.
