Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, a16z’s Chris Dixon, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Kraken co-founder Arjun Sethi met with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick before President Trump and crypto industry leaders were scheduled to speak at the White House on Aug. 20. The discussions focused on the importance of passing the Clarity Act, a proposed framework for crypto-market regulation, and its potential implications for U.S. employment, economic growth and attracting crypto companies back to the country. Participants also examined remaining barriers, including questions surrounding ethics provisions, and how the White House could help build bipartisan consensus.
