Bitcoin rebounded from weeks near 90 million won, rising 4.6% in 24 hours to 95.347 million won, or about $68,900, on Upbit at 9 a.m. on August 20. Ether jumped 15% to 3.097 million won, or roughly $2,240, reclaiming 3 million won for the first time since May 25. XRP gained 8.03% and Solana advanced 8.4%. Traders linked the rally to the US Treasury’s plan to expand long-dated bond buybacks, renewed inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs and expectations for less restrictive digital-asset regulation. Standard Chartered’s Geoff Kendrick said Bitcoin could reach $100,000 by year-end, while other investors warned that futures-market forced buying may have amplified the move and could leave room for short-term profit-taking.
