France and Saudi Arabia have agreed to develop a €6 billion ($7 billion) manga-themed amusement park near Cergy-Pontoise, northwest of Paris. Inspired by the Japanese Dragon Ball Z franchise, the project will be financed by Saudi entertainment and investment group Qiddiya and is expected to create around 22,000 jobs. The idea emerged after French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman discovered a shared enthusiasm for Dragon Ball Z during Macron’s visit to Saudi Arabia in 2025. The development is part of Saudi Arabia’s effort to diversify beyond oil and expand its leisure industry globally. No opening date has been set, construction is expected to take several years, and key details remain unresolved for the project’s three theme parks.
