21Shares revamps five crypto ETFs with staking names, FTSE pricing and new fees

21Shares is changing the names, pricing benchmark and fee-collection schedule for its Ethereum, Bitcoin, XRP, Dogecoin and Polkadot funds. On August 25, it renamed the 21Shares Ethereum ETF as the 21Shares Ethereum Staking ETF and the Polkadot (DOT) fund as the 21Shares Polkadot Staking ETF. The Bitcoin fund, ARKB, continues to be run with Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest, while the XRP and Dogecoin (DOGE) funds keep their existing names. From Thursday, August 27, all five funds will use FTSE indices to calculate net asset value (the value of fund holdings per share), after 21Shares ended its CF Benchmarks license. Sponsor fees will also be collected at least quarterly instead of weekly, with payment remaining in crypto assets. The changes do not alter holders’ shares, but they make staking (locking crypto to earn rewards) more prominent as competition grows among yield-bearing Ethereum products.
