ARK Invest committed roughly $20.5 million to Broadcom by buying 57,705 shares across its three largest ETFs, days before the chipmaker’s fiscal third-quarter earnings report on Sept. 3. The firm simultaneously sold 37,977 AMD shares worth about $18.1 million, though AMD remains the 11th-largest holding in the ARK Innovation ETF at $193.3 million, or about 3% of assets. ARK also purchased 69,585 Cerebras shares valued at approximately $12.8 million and 47,794 Cloudflare shares worth roughly $13.3 million. Broadcom is expected to report $29.24 billion in revenue and adjusted earnings per share of $3.21, while it previously guided for $16 billion in AI chip revenue. The company faces growing TPU competition from MediaTek and Marvell, but RBC Capital analyst Srini Pajjuri expects a modest beat and raise. ARK’s broader trading included sales of Tempus AI and Twist Bioscience, as well as smaller disposals of CrowdStrike, Robinhood, Roblox and Brera Holdings. The transactions came as Nvidia reported second-quarter results above expectations. ARK’s purchases indicate that Wood sees pullbacks in Broadcom, Cerebras and Cloudflare as opportunities to add AI infrastructure exposure.
