Ontology has temporarily halted its mainnet (production blockchain) after core developers detected a potential security concern during a daily security check. The precautionary pause has suspended on-chain transaction processing, while developers, validators and ecosystem partners assess the network and related components. Ontology said there is no confirmed security incident and no indication that ONT, ONG or other user assets were lost or compromised. The network has not set a restart time and will resume block production only after it is sufficiently assessed, deemed safe and any required upgrades are completed. Users have been advised to avoid time-sensitive transactions during the review.
