Azzas 2154 is using blockchain (a shared digital record system) to store supply-chain records and improve visibility into the origin of raw materials. The conglomerate was formed in August 2024 through the merger of Arezzo&Co and Grupo Soma and now covers between 28 and 34 brands, ranging from luxury leather goods to streetwear. Suelen Joner, Azzas 2154’s head of sustainability, said the system allows the company to immediately block irregular materials when supply-chain information does not check out. The company aims to achieve 100% traceability for its leather supply chain by 2030 and for cotton by 2040. By early 2025, it had traced 38.6% of its leather and 69% of its cotton raw materials. Azzas 2154 had also obtained certification for 100% renewable electricity across its operations by early 2025, ahead of schedule. In 2025, 93% of its Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers held socio-environmental certifications or had completed audits. The company is combining blockchain with AI tools to identify anomalies and irregular patterns in supplier data, adding automated checks to its operational transparency efforts.
