The number of U.S. workers voluntarily leaving their jobs fell by 157,000 to 3.06 million in July 2026, down from a revised 3.21 million in June. Declines were concentrated in accommodation and food services, professional and business services, and other services. The quits rate eased to 1.9% from 2%, remaining near its lowest level since 2020 and indicating continued reluctance among workers to quit.
