Materials shares led sector gains with a 1.5% increase, while real estate stocks declined 1.2%. Ollie's Bargain Outlet Holdings Inc. rose about 5% after reporting second-quarter adjusted EPS of $1.42, above the $1.14 estimate, although sales of $741.305 million missed the $752.852 million forecast. Linkhome Holdings Inc. surged 44% after its subsidiary Linkhome Technologies began a preliminary evaluation of a proposed European AI computing infrastructure project involving up to 144 NVIDIA GB300 GPUs. Purple Biotech Ltd – ADR gained 36% after the U.S. PTO issued a Notice of Allowance for a patent application covering tri-specific antibody constructs and their uses, while bioAffinity Technologies Inc. climbed 45% after outlining plans to advance its CyPath Lung test. Tscan Therapeutics Inc. fell 26% after pausing further enrollment in the Phase 3 ALLOHA-2 study of TSC-101 because of insufficient capital and announcing a 75% workforce reduction. CDT Equity Inc. dropped 22% after disclosing two Form 8-K filings concerning a recent share issuance, Nasdaq listing status and executive leadership changes. Alpha Modus Holdings Inc. declined 21%. Oil and gold each fell 0.4%, silver lost 0.8% and copper rose 0.1%. European shares were mostly lower, while Asian markets closed lower. U.S. private businesses added 38,000 jobs in August, below July’s revised 46,000 gain and the 47,000 market estimate, while mortgage applications rose 0.8% in the final week of August.
