U.S. stock index futures were little changed Wednesday evening as investors weighed simmering tensions with Iran, the prospect of higher interest rates and an upcoming labor-market report. S&P 500 Futures stood at 7,677.25 points at 19:30 ET (23:30 GMT), while Nasdaq 100 Futures were flat at 29,184.50 and Dow Jones Futures at 53,144.0. Broadcom fell as much as 3% in aftermarket trading after its $34.8 billion fiscal fourth-quarter revenue guidance missed estimates, despite slightly better-than-expected fiscal third-quarter earnings. The shares recovered much of the decline after the company raised its artificial-intelligence chip revenue forecasts for fiscal 2027 and fiscal 2028, including an expectation that revenue will double to roughly $230 billion in fiscal 2028. Broadcom shares are up about 6% in 2026, far behind peers and the SOX, which has risen 54%. Hewlett Packard Enterprise fell more than 5% after citing possible margin weakness and supply-chain bottlenecks. The S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq Composite rose 0.46%, 0.56% and 0.45%, respectively, during Wednesday’s session. Markets remain focused on August nonfarm payrolls (monthly U.S. jobs measure excluding farm workers) due Friday, while renewed U.S.-Iran strikes near the Strait of Hormuz have fueled oil-price, inflation and interest-rate concerns.
