U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs (funds holding Bitcoin directly) recorded $730.9 million in net inflows on Sept. 3, their strongest single trading session since Jan. 14. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, or IBIT, led with $454 million, followed by $138 million for ARK Invest and 21Shares’ ARKB and roughly $74 million for Fidelity’s FBTC. Grayscale’s two Bitcoin products attracted a combined $57 million, while VanEck’s HODL and WisdomTree’s BTCW posted withdrawals of close to $20 million and approximately $5 million, respectively. Combined net assets reached $103.34 billion, equivalent to 6.32% of Bitcoin’s market capitalization. The latest inflow followed a $236 million withdrawal on Sept. 1, when IBIT alone recorded roughly $201 million in redemptions, and approximately $101 million of net buying on Sept. 2. Cumulative net inflows since the funds launched in January 2024 reached $55.44 billion. Thursday’s inflow was more than three times the largest daily inflow during an 11-session run of positive flows in late August. The buying accompanied a 5.7% to 5.9% gain in the U.S.-listed funds. August also produced strong demand, with Bitcoin ETFs collecting $1.92 billion during the five trading sessions ending Aug. 21, while Bitcoin and Ether ETFs together attracted $2.61 billion, their strongest combined week since October 2025. Bitcoin funds represented about 73% of that total, and spot Ether ETFs received $697.47 million. IBIT has repeatedly accounted for a large share of demand. Crypto.news previously reported that U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $853.5 million from Aug. 3 through Aug. 7, including an estimated $693 million for IBIT, or roughly 81% of the group’s inflows. QCP Capital said Bitcoin’s move from approximately $63,500 to above $80,000 was supported by spot buying as futures positioning declined. During part of that rally, spot Bitcoin ETFs drew $2.8 billion across eight consecutive sessions, while futures open interest (active outstanding futures contracts) fell from 646,000 BTC to 588,000 BTC. IBIT remained the largest U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF by assets, with BlackRock reporting $60.52 billion in net assets as of Aug. 26, before the latest price advance and Thursday’s asset-value increase. Jane Street reported more than $1 billion in U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF shares as of June 30, including approximately $828 million in IBIT, although the filing reflected positions at quarter-end and did not disclose the firm’s current exposure. ETF flows have remained volatile. The funds recorded $201.9 million in net outflows on Aug. 28, ending nine consecutive sessions of inflows; ARKB led withdrawals with $114.9 million and IBIT lost $33.4 million. The products nevertheless attracted $924.5 million during the Aug. 24-28 trading week. Earlier in the year, the funds entered July after eight consecutive negative weeks, including $527 million in withdrawals during the four trading days ending July 2. A $221.7 million inflow on July 2 ended a 10-day daily withdrawal run. IBIT received $209.4 million on July 7 as total daily inflows reached $265.7 million, and another $233.1 million entered the products on July 30, including $183.4 million for BlackRock, or 78.7% of that session’s inflows. Thursday’s $730.9 million allocation exceeded each of those daily totals, while the combined net asset value of the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF market moved above $103 billion.
