The ASX 200 finished little changed at 9,011 on Monday as gains in non-energy minerals, energy stocks and logistics offset declines in technology, commercial services and healthcare. Early advances faded after U.S. stock futures fell amid renewed Middle East tensions, with Washington and Tehran conducting tit-for-tat strikes targeting vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and elsewhere over the weekend. Wall Street was closed Monday for a holiday. Australian job advertisements rose for a second consecutive month in August, supported by seasonal Christmas hiring, while China is due to release August CPI, PPI (producer-price index) and trade data this week. Energy stocks outperformed, with Woodside up 1.6% and Santos 1.7%. Ingenia Communities jumped nearly 15% after rejecting a Warburg Pincus takeover offer valuing the developer at a 30% premium. Technology stocks lagged, led by Xero's 3.9% decline and Wisetech's 3.8% drop, while two of Australia's big four banks were subdued.
