Bitcoin’s recent advance has been led by spot buying rather than leveraged futures positions, according to crypto market maker DWF Labs. BTC futures open interest fell to 669,600 BTC from 762,200 BTC since mid-August, when the sharp upswing began. Spot BTC and ETH ETFs attracted a combined $1.2 billion last week, extending a run of weekly inflows above $1 billion to three weeks, the first such streak since July last year. DWF Labs also cited renewed U.S.-Iran tensions as a factor pushing oil prices higher and said market expectations were shifting toward U.S. rate hikes. This week’s Producer Price Index and Consumer Price Index releases could become important variables for markets.
