Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) now supports upfront fee payments for Fast Transfer transactions. Developers can quote and collect fees before execution using either the source chain’s native gas token or USDC, rather than deducting fees from the USDC amount on the destination chain. The change is designed to make costs more predictable and ensure users receive the expected USDC amount. CCTP’s Quote API can calculate fees across supported chains and combine Fast Transfer and Forwarding fees into a single quote, eliminating the need for developers to build separate fee-calculation systems.
