Uniswap Labs is rolling out its broadest support package yet for developers building hooks for Uniswap v4. Hooks are modular smart contracts that add custom logic before or after actions such as swaps and liquidity additions, enabling features including dynamic fees, custom pricing curves, limit orders, time-weighted average price execution, MEV redistribution and oracle integrations without changing the core protocol code. The initiative includes dedicated API access, a public hooklist repository with metadata and audit links, security guidance, audit subsidies through OpenZeppelin and Trail of Bits, and direct support for hook-compatible pools in Uniswap’s liquidity-provision flows and automatic swap routing. An AI-assisted uniswap-hooks plugin launched on July 14, 2026, about six weeks after the Uniswap Foundation published its Self-Directed Security Framework around June 1, 2026. The framework emphasizes developer ownership and risk management and includes risk-scoring worksheets for reviewing code before mainnet deployment. Together, the registry, security tools and audit partnerships address discovery, risk prevention and access to reviews, while interface integration removes the need for developers to build separate frontends or direct users to other sites.
