China Airlines and EVA Airways both reported their second-highest monthly consolidated revenue in August, supported by peak summer travel, fare adjustments reflecting higher fuel costs and sustained shipments of artificial intelligence (AI) servers and other high-tech goods. China Airlines recorded NT$21.948 billion in revenue, up 27.22% year-over-year, while EVA Airways posted NT$22.891 billion, up 24.92%. EVA Air's passenger revenue reached a record NT$14.208 billion, and its first-eight-month consolidated revenue also reached a record NT$173.63 billion. Passenger demand remained strong across long-haul and regional routes, with EVA Air's long-haul load factors above 90%. Cargo revenue at both carriers benefited from semiconductors, server components, networking equipment and other AI supply-chain shipments. China Airlines expects September's cargo peak season and consumer-electronics launches to support demand, while EVA Air plans additional Taoyuan–Incheon flights and expanded Taoyuan–Hangzhou service in 2026. Market analysts said passenger momentum was giving way to the cargo peak season and that AI-related demand could support fourth-quarter growth.
