GameStop Corp. raised its fiscal 2026 adjusted EBITDA forecast to more than $650 million from a previous target above $600 million after second-quarter net income rose 77% to $298.7 million. The video game retailer’s earnings benefited from a 57% increase in collectibles sales and lower operating expenses, even as total net sales fell 19% to $790.2 million because of weaker video game revenue, planned store closures, the prior-year Nintendo Switch 2 launch and the divestiture of its French operations. Collectibles became GameStop’s largest reported segment, representing 45.1% of revenue. The company ended the quarter with $5.4 billion in liquid assets, including $5.1 billion in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities, and held about 43.4 million eBay shares valued at roughly $4.9 billion. GME rose after the results, although technical indicators continued to show longer-term pressure, with $23 identified as resistance and $18 as nearby support.
