Brazil’s Supreme Court opened an investigation in July into Senator Flavio Bolsonaro over alleged corruption and money laundering crimes linked to a broader probe into failed lender Banco Master. A court document unsealed on Friday said Justice Andre Mendonca opened the case after a request from Brazil’s Federal Police, which cited donations by Banco Master’s former chief executive Daniel Vorcaro to a movie about the senator’s father, former President Jair Bolsonaro. Flavio Bolsonaro is the leading right-wing challenger to leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in next month’s election.
