Hut 8 shares rose alongside digital-asset peers Friday as investors responded to optimism ahead of a potential U.S. Senate vote on the Clarity Act, which would establish a federal framework for digital assets. Senator Cynthia Lummis said the updated bill reflected bipartisan work over August and addressed registration requirements for decentralized-in-name-only DeFi protocols, while limiting its DeFi provisions to spot and cash transactions. Hut 8 is also gaining support from its expansion beyond Bitcoin mining into high-performance computing data centers. The company reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $74.9 million, up 81% from a year earlier, while compute revenue more than doubled to $72.5 million and the company mined 935 BTC. Its contracted AI data-center capacity has reached 949 MW, representing about $26.6 billion in expected base-term contract value, with $7.5 billion in project financings supporting its River Bend and Beacon Point campuses.
