Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline is expected to resume operations soon after a drone attack shut the country’s key alternative crude export route. US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said on September 14 that the pipeline would return shortly, while Saudi authorities assess the damage and necessary repairs. The route can transport about 7 million barrels per day and reached full capacity earlier this year when tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz was effectively paralyzed.
