Zcash (ZEC), a privacy-focused cryptocurrency, has sharply rallied to roughly $1,250 despite broad crypto-market selling after the U.S. Senate failed to invoke cloture on a motion to proceed to the CLARITY Act. CoinGlass data puts ZEC’s market capitalization at approximately $21 billion, while its derivatives market recorded about $7.70 billion in 24-hour futures volume, $2.61 billion in open interest and $18.07 million in liquidations. Bitcoin fell toward $76,000, XRP dropped nearly 10% despite reassurances from Ripple-linked CTO Stu Alderoty, and Ethereum, Solana and Dogecoin each declined roughly 5% in the initial reaction. ZEC briefly fell with the broader market before reversing sharply, although it remained down approximately 0.84% over seven days. The rally also followed strong support from Zcash holders for proposals tied to the NU7 network upgrade, including reducing the target block interval from 75 seconds to 25 seconds and advancing the upgrade as quickly as possible.
