ZEC briefly climbed above $1,385 overnight, setting a new all-time high as Paradigm founder Matt Huang outlined his views on Zcash. Huang said blockchain ecosystems face a long-term shortage of funding, particularly for public goods, and that inflation-based funding for developer funds can be a viable mechanism. He said the Zcash developer fund remains important as AI-enabled cyberattack capabilities advance and quantum technology develops rapidly. Huang also argued that wider acceptance and adoption of Zcash as a privacy complement to Bitcoin make governance based solely on token-weighted voting potentially unpredictable, undermining long-term trust in Zcash as a monetary asset. He said Zcash would be better served by combining token voting with other governance methods, and disclosed that Paradigm is an investor in ZEC and ZODL.
