Ethereum recovered from a drop to $2,356 after the CLARITY Act failed in the U.S. Senate, reclaiming $2,400 and reaching $2,444 as the market responded positively to a Fed rate hike. Whales have continued accumulating during the rebound, with two wallets withdrawing a combined 5,195 ETH worth about $12.9 million from Gemini and Binance. One newly created wallet withdrew 2,695 ETH worth $6.94 million from Gemini and staked it, while another whale returned after nine months of inactivity to withdraw 2,500 ETH worth $6.02 million from Binance. Ethereum exchange netflow fell from 64,300 ETH the previous day to about negative 32,500 ETH, indicating that more tokens were leaving exchanges. Institutional activity moved in the opposite direction: Bitwise sold 14,300 ETH worth $34.21 million, its first outflow since late July, while Ethereum spot ETFs recorded outflows for two straight days after more than a month without them. Total ETF outflows reached $224 million, the highest level since January. The report says a shift in institutional sentiment remains critical for a stronger recovery; if whale buying resumes and selling declines, Ethereum could reclaim $2,500 and establish a path toward a larger upside move.
