Bitcoin’s rebound has pushed domestic virtual asset-related stocks higher for a second consecutive day, with Bitplanet gaining 23.23% to 3,395 Korean won at 9:29 a.m. on the 22nd. The company has acquired and holds Bitcoin as part of its financial strategy. Woori Technology Investment, a shareholder of Dunamu, the operator of Upbit, rose 7.17% to 6,280 won, while Hanwha Investment & Securities advanced 4.94% to 4,885 won. The sector also posted broad gains the previous day, when Bitplanet reached its daily price limit and Parax Ethereum, T Scientific and Woori Technology Investment recorded double-digit increases. Bitcoin was trading at $86,443 on CoinMarketCap, up 6.00% in 24 hours and more than 10% over the past week, while Ethereum rose 3.64% to $2,772. Although the Clarity Act, viewed as a key U.S. Senate bill for institutionalizing the virtual asset market, failed to pass and temporarily unsettled prices, sentiment has recovered amid regulatory initiatives. The CFTC (U.S. derivatives regulator) submitted a new framework for virtual asset transactions and markets to the White House for review, while the SEC (U.S. securities regulator) granted conditional exemptions for stock tokens, which represent shares in blockchain-based token form.
