Asian shares mostly advanced Tuesday after Wall Street moved close to record highs, led by chipmakers and other artificial-intelligence stocks. South Korea’s Kospi gained 1.6%, while Hong Kong and Shanghai also rose; Tokyo markets remained closed for an extended holiday and will resume trading Thursday. The S&P 500 climbed 1.5% to within 0.4% of its record, the Nasdaq composite reached an all-time high, and the Dow added 0.7%. Oil prices rose in Asian trading but remained below last week’s peak as crude flows through the Strait of Hormuz stayed limited amid Middle East conflicts. The decline in oil prices on Monday also eased pressure from the bond market, with the 10-year Treasury yield falling to 4.95% from 5.01%.
