Meta Platforms and Shopify are partnering to add AI-powered shopping and checkout to Meta’s Muse personal AI agent. Muse will connect users with stores running on Shopify and let them complete purchases through Shop Pay, which stores payment and shipping details for faster checkout. Meta introduced Muse earlier this month to handle tasks including appointment scheduling, financial management and shopping. Meta Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang said the partnership will broaden users’ access to stores and products. Deutsche Bank analysts said the deal, reported by The Wall Street Journal, shows major AI platforms adopting Shopify’s commerce infrastructure and highlights the company’s product data, merchant access, Shop Pay and order-processing capabilities. Meta shares closed at $741.24, up 11.43%, while Shopify shares closed at $137.92, up 7.33%, on Monday.
