European equity markets were poised to open slightly higher on Tuesday, extending the previous session’s gains after an AI-led Wall Street rally improved sentiment toward semiconductor demand. Renewed enthusiasm around Meta’s AI agent, Muse, eased concerns about a slowdown in AI development and supported demand for chips powering the technology. Investors were also encouraged by expectations for a summit between Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping this week, as well as hopes for talks between Trump and his Iranian counterpart and other Gulf leaders. UK public sector borrowing and Spain’s trade data are due alongside earnings from British companies Smiths and Kingfisher. Euro Stoxx 50 and Stoxx 600 futures were each up about 0.1% in premarket trading.
