AMD shares jumped 9.6% to a record $613.31, lifting the chipmaker above a $1 trillion market value for the first time as Nvidia, Intel and Arm joined a wider semiconductor rally. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose about 4.3%, while AMD has gained about 185% in 2026, compared with roughly 16% for the Nasdaq. Investors are increasingly viewing artificial-intelligence spending as a broader infrastructure cycle spanning GPUs (graphics processing units), CPUs, memory, networking and data centers. AMD’s expansion includes its Helios rack-scale platform and server CPUs, alongside a Meta agreement to deploy up to 6 gigawatts of AMD Instinct GPUs. South Korean semiconductor exports also rose 259% year over year to $34.1 billion, supporting the view that demand is translating into physical shipments. AMD’s valuation now sets a higher growth benchmark across accelerators, CPUs and complete data-center systems.
