Reap and Visa have formed a strategic collaboration to launch stablecoin-linked Visa credit card programs in more than 100 markets, using Reap’s existing issuance infrastructure. The platform handles authorization, processing, compliance frameworks and operations, enabling businesses to offer cards funded, collateralized or repaid with stablecoins (digital tokens designed to track fiat currencies). The expansion takes Reap’s reach beyond Asia and Latin America into EMEA and Africa, with cardholders able to spend at more than 175 million Visa-accepting merchant locations. Artemis Research estimates that stablecoin-linked card programs are growing at a 106% compound annual growth rate, compared with 5% for peer-to-peer payments. Visa says global stablecoin settlement volume has reached a $20 billion annual run rate, up 15 times year-over-year, while more than 160 stablecoin card programs operate worldwide. Reap also supports cross-border corporate spending and direct stablecoin settlement with Visa in Asia Pacific, allowing payment obligations to settle on a blockchain outside traditional banking hours and potentially reducing issuers’ prefunding needs. The company is preparing to add a Mexican peso stablecoin and is exploring tokens pegged to the Hong Kong dollar, euro, won and yen. Reap’s card and payments volume rose 33% year-over-year in the first half of 2026 after revenue and volume tripled in 2025. The companies also plan to explore multicurrency cards and authenticated payments by trusted AI agents, while Visa says blockchain settlement will complement rather than replace traditional banking infrastructure.
