President Donald Trump and China’s President Xi Jinping will meet in Washington on Thursday and Friday, marking Xi’s first visit to the United States since 2023. The talks come after an escalating tariff war between the world’s two largest economic powers last year. Tariffs, or taxes on imported goods, increased prices for consumers in both countries and created operational difficulties for international businesses.
