Payward, the entity behind cryptocurrency platform Kraken, is consolidating trading, banking, wealth management and enterprise services into an integrated financial infrastructure ecosystem. Adjusted revenue reached $508 million in the second quarter of 2026, up 17% from a year earlier, while adjusted EBITDA was $23 million. Overall platform transaction volume fell 18% to $310 billion as cryptocurrency trading cooled, although derivatives and tokenized equities expanded. Nasdaq invested $100 million in Payward at a $21 billion valuation to develop Nasdaq Equity Tokens, targeted for launch in the second quarter of 2027. The London Stock Exchange plans to debut Payward-powered xStocks on its new LSE 24 venue in 2027. Payward has also expanded its regulated derivatives capabilities through the $1.5 billion NinjaTrader acquisition and the Bitnomial deal, valued at up to $550 million, while pursuing wallet, stablecoin payment and institutional infrastructure businesses. Co-CEO Arjun Sethi said the company is focused on unified balance sheets and regulatory frameworks rather than disconnected business units. Payward filed confidential IPO documentation in November 2025 but does not expect a listing before the second quarter of 2027 at the earliest.
