Leading cryptocurrencies traded mostly flat Sunday as investors assessed ongoing U.S.-Iran negotiations and awaited the August personal consumption expenditure price index and September jobs report. Bitcoin slipped below $84,000 after briefly topping $85,000, while Ethereum fluctuated and Dogecoin edged higher. More than $190 million was liquidated from the crypto market over 24 hours, nearly evenly divided between long and short positions. Bitcoin open interest (the value of outstanding derivatives contracts) declined 0.50% over 24 hours and more than 11% over the week. Bitcoin analyst Michaël van de Poppe identified $84,800 as the key resistance level for a move toward $90,000, while Chartered Market Technician Aksel Kibar said the weekly candle near $84,000-$85,000 did not show a decisive breakout. The global crypto market capitalization fell 0.60% to $2.97 trillion.
