US stocks finished mixed Tuesday as rising Treasury yields, elevated oil prices and fiscal-deficit concerns weighed on equities. The S&P 500 edged lower and the Dow fell more than 100 points, while the Nasdaq moved slightly higher. The 10-year Treasury yield traded near levels not seen since 2007, and the 30-year yield hovered around a 2004 high. New York Fed President Williams said another interest rate hike could be necessary this year. Bank of America declined nearly 1%, while AI hyperscalers (large-scale cloud computing companies) and chipmakers traded unevenly amid record debt issuance. Alphabet and Nvidia fell, while Meta, Oracle, Broadcom and Micron gained as the planned Anthropic IPO supported the sectors. The offering could value Anthropic at more than $2 trillion.
