Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva leads Senator Flavio Bolsonaro 48% to 45% in a simulated runoff, according to a Datafolha poll conducted ahead of this month's election. The three-point gap remains a technical tie because it falls within the poll's 2-percentage-point margin of error. Lula also leads the first round with 42%, followed by Bolsonaro at 38%, Augusto Cury at 4%, and Ronaldo Caiado and Renan Santos at 3% each. If no candidate secures more than 50% of valid votes on Sunday, the two leading candidates will advance to the runoff scheduled for October 25. Datafolha surveyed 2,506 people from September 29 to October 1.
