Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP advanced Friday as derivatives traders rebuilt bullish positions ahead of the U.S. jobs report. Bitcoin open interest rose to roughly 653,000 BTC, valued at $56.2 billion, from 626,000 BTC on Sept. 30, a gain of about 4.3%. Open interest measures outstanding futures and perpetual contracts, and its increase alongside Bitcoin's move from $83,500 to $86,500 points to fresh positions supporting the rally. The perpetual funding rate climbed from about 3% to 10%, raising the cost for long-position holders. The increase began from an open-interest level near a 12-month low, while higher funding costs also leave leveraged traders more vulnerable to a sharp reversal. Strategy and Strive each gained around 3% in premarket trading, while Coinbase and Robinhood rose roughly 2%. Crypto analyst Ali Martinez outlined potential long-term targets contingent on confirmed monthly breakouts, including $190,000 for Bitcoin, $8,800 for Ethereum, $31.87 for XRP and $2,744 for Solana. A retreat in the 10-year Treasury yield to 5.25% from an intraday high of 5.34%, alongside a decline in the probability of a Federal Reserve rate hike to 24.9% from 37.6%, also supported risk assets. Bitcoin was up 1.5%, Ethereum gained 1.5% and XRP rose 3%, with each asset facing the technical resistance and support levels identified in the report.
