China's weekly token consumption for AI large models reached 28.13 trillion between July 27 and August 2, extending its global lead to 14 consecutive weeks. Demand gathered through multiple token supply platforms shows a rapid growth phase, with peak periods already facing shortages. As token usage surges and computing power remains tight in stages, several large-model companies are changing how they charge customers, moving from pure usage-based billing to more refined and dynamic pricing. Kimi has introduced four monthly subscription plans priced from 39 yuan to 559 yuan, while DeepSeek will raise prices for its large-model open API (application programming interface). It is also expected to introduce peak-valley pricing, with rates during 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. set at twice normal levels.
