BTCPay Server has temporarily limited public remote connections to Lightning Network (Bitcoin payments overlay) nodes running Lightning Network Daemon, or LND, after attackers exploited a serious vulnerability to obtain credentials and transfer funds. The restriction stops external wallets such as Zeus from connecting through the BTCPay Server domain, but BTCPay said Lightning payments can continue. It plans to restore remote access options when it deems the setup safe.
