Brent crude rose above $85 a barrel, reaching its highest level since Aug. 4 after gaining 4.31% on the day, according to Gate data cited by Odaily. Strength spread across the broader oil futures complex, with SC crude (Shanghai crude futures) up 2.12% to 543.4 yuan per barrel, low-sulfur fuel oil (cleaner marine fuel) up 2.05% to 4,671 yuan per tonne, fuel oil up 2.25% to 3,587 yuan per tonne, and asphalt up 0.98% to 4,215 yuan per tonne.
