An onchain analysis by X account 0xlaplaced estimated the mint raised $1,282,852, or 684.28 ETH, based on 37,430 tokens sold at $17 and 5,526 sold at $117 after a $100 upgrade option, with 1,488 additional tokens issued for free before the paid sale. The public mint opened at 2:18 a.m. ET on Aug. 11, and Villemain, who posts as ColeThereum, declared it sold out 57 minutes later. The sale drew scrutiny because the Spritehood Wisp ERC-721 contract on Robinhood Chain is unverified on Blockscout, meaning buyers do not have published source code showing how pricing and distribution worked. Critics on X called the launch a cash grab, while Villemain said infrastructure and mechanisms are still to come, leaving the key question centered on what buyers receive beyond the mint itself.
