South Korean semiconductor equipment stocks rose broadly on the 12th as strong U.S. Big Tech earnings and fresh order disclosures from AI infrastructure companies bolstered expectations that spending on artificial intelligence build-outs remains firm. Buying extended beyond large-cap chip names to smaller KOSDAQ-listed equipment makers, with Mirae Industry up 15.64% at 8,650 won by 2:49 p.m., Neosem rising 9.45% to 11,230 won and Dawonnexview gaining 9.13% to 8,730 won. Auros Technology, Jusung Engineering and Wonik IPS also advanced as investors bought makers of front-end chip processing tools and inspection and metrology equipment. The move followed CoreWeave's report of $2.58 billion in second-quarter revenue, up 112% from a year earlier, a $104 billion order backlog and a higher annual capital expenditure plan of $35 billion to $39 billion, while Super Micro Computer said new orders this quarter topped $60 billion and projected fiscal 2027 revenue of $65 billion to $72 billion. Lee Kyoung-min, an analyst at Daishin Securities, said investor sentiment in semiconductors has improved as large backlogs and new orders reaffirm that AI infrastructure investment and chip demand remain solid.
