The eurozone posted an adjusted goods trade surplus of 1.8 billion euros in June, reversing a 6.1 billion euro deficit in May as lower energy imports reduced the bloc’s import bill. Eurostat said adjusted exports rose 0.9% while imports fell 2.1%. The shift adds to signs that external trade supported the 21-nation currency area’s economy, which grew faster than the U.S. in the second quarter.
