Shiba Inu's daily burn rate jumped 2,842% over the last 24 hours, with 113.63 million SHIB permanently removed from circulation, while weekly burns reached 147.05 million SHIB, up 579%, according to Shibburn. The latest activity came as long-time community member Mazrael said Shibarium, Shiba Inu's layer-2 network, still underpins ShibTorch, an automated burn portal that converts transaction base fees collected in BONE into SHIB and then destroys those tokens to reduce supply. Responding to questions about whether BONE remains relevant, Mazrael said it is still Shibarium's gas token and continues to help power the burn mechanism. The token's holder base also kept expanding, reaching 1,678,912, with 98 new holders added in the past day, 728 so far in August, and 130,282 since the start of 2026, based on figures shared by Etherscan's SHIB X account.
