Tokenized assets are moving along a path similar to ETFs, with adoption accelerating faster than in some established crypto-linked products, Ondo Finance Managing Director John Hoffman said at a blockchain symposium in Wyoming. He said stablecoins took three years to reach $1 billion, tokenized Treasuries took 18 months, while Ondo Stocks reached $1 billion in total value locked (TVL), the value of assets deposited in a platform, in eight months. Ondo's perpetual-contract platform recorded about $9 billion in notional trading volume during its first seven weeks. The company is also planning "smart portfolios" that bundle tokenized stocks. Hoffman said legislation such as the Clarity Act could open the U.S. market as regulatory clarity improves.
